Tcher ("Tcher", "we", "us", or "our") is an AI-powered educational platform developed by TechnoConnect AI, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Tcher platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services. This policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, as applicable in India.

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Registration data: Name, email address, role (student/teacher), grade or semester, board or university, branch of study.
• Profile data: Educational details you provide to enable personalised responses — grade, board, subject preferences.
• Communication data: Messages, queries, and feedback submitted through the platform or contact forms.
• Payment data: If applicable, billing information processed through secure third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card details.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, query patterns, and interaction data with AI responses.
• Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
• Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and local storage to maintain session state, remember theme preferences, and analyse usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

2.3 Information from AI interactions

Conversations with the Tcher AI tutor — including your questions, answers, quiz responses, and assignments — are processed to deliver the Service. These interactions may be used in aggregate, anonymised form to improve our AI models and educational content. We do not use identifiable conversation content for advertising purposes.

• To provide, operate, and personalise the Tcher educational Services.
• To calibrate AI responses to your educational profile — grade, board, branch, and learning level.
• To generate quiz evaluations, study notes, and personalised feedback.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
• To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised usage analysis.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating the platform (cloud hosting, payment processors) under data processing agreements that restrict further use.
• AI model providers: As described in Section 05 (Third-Party AI Processing).
• Legal requirements: When required by applicable Indian law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

To generate AI tutor responses, we securely send only the information needed for your request to trusted third-party AI providers. This may include:

• Your questions, prompts, and chat messages
• Uploaded files, documents, or images (for analysis)
• Language preferences and persona/curriculum context

Why we share

These providers generate the AI responses shown in Tcher. We do not sell your data. We only send the information required to answer your request.

Each provider processes data under their own privacy policy and terms of service.

What we never share

Passwords, authentication tokens, payment data, or other sensitive credentials.

Retention by providers

Providers may retain request data temporarily to generate responses and according to their own retention policies. On Tcher, your chats and account data are retained until you delete them or delete your account, unless longer retention is required by law.

Your consent

Before your first AI request in the app or web product, we ask you to explicitly agree to this third-party AI processing. You can review this policy and our Third Party AI Disclosure at any time from your account settings. Withdrawing consent may limit or prevent use of AI features, as we cannot provide AI tutor responses without this processing.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from account settings in the app/web product, or by contacting us at contact@technoconnectai.com. Deleted account data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered, except for limited records retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution as permitted by applicable law.

Logs and analytics may be retained for longer periods for compliance and security purposes, and are anonymised where possible. Third-party AI providers retain data according to their own policies (see Section 05).

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Data transmitted to third-party AI providers is encrypted in transit; those providers are responsible for securing data according to their own practices.

Tcher serves students from Grade 9 upward (approximately 14 years and above). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian believes their child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us immediately at contact@technoconnectai.com and we will delete such information promptly.

For students between 13 and 18, we recommend parental awareness of the Services being used. Educational data for minor users is handled with heightened care and is not used for advertising or profiling beyond the educational purpose of the platform.

Subject to applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 where applicable), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Request deletion of your personal information and account.
• Download or export your data where available in product settings.
• Withdraw consent to processing where consent is the legal basis (including third-party AI processing).
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

We use the following types of cookies: strictly necessary cookies (for session management and security), functional cookies (for theme and language preferences), and analytics cookies (for understanding platform usage in aggregate). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality.

The platform may contain links to third-party websites, including AI provider privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
